PERSONAL STATEMENTS

Often many students I have worked with have ran into the challenge of trying to make their writing “sound right,” “look right,” and “be right” all at once. This is a trap that often left my students typing and deleting over and over. Before they knew it, hours went by and they were left sitting at their computer staring at a bright white screen and a flashing Microsoft Word curser.

Through an iterative process, I will help us break the task down, and follow a more constructivist approach. Similar to building a house, I will guide us through the planning and brainstorming process (blue print), help construct the foundation and pillars (structure), support us in building different walls to contextualize different spaces (coherence of content), and of course help paint the walls (grammar, style, word choice). As we go through these phases of construction, we will do multiple drafts until we have reached our mission.

The goals of my services is to help you succeed and to help you become a more informed writer, editor, and critical thinker.

SHARED READING EXPERIENCES

Join me, Dr. Blum, on an exciting shared reading experience where we engage in an exploration of literacy and cognition with your favorite story.

That is, as we read together taking turns, diving into the “how’s” and “why’s” behind the decisions the characters and author makes, we will create a rich and successful reading experience.
